In my last post (first in a new blogging format outside of Drupal/Wordpress in more then a decade) I title the first post "new year new blog new you", mostly to signify to myself that I am moving away from Drupal as a blogging platform and re-engaging in learning new web technologies after spending my last 5 years focused heavily on Pantheon as a platform and OpenSource Web Frameworks like WP and Drupal as a the toolset... not knowing that I would end up changing companies and careers shortly.

After 5(ish) really amazing years at Pantheon, I took an opportunity to join the Sales Engineering team at Datadog. 5 years is a really good amount of time at any company, and mine at Pantheon flew by. I worked with amazing people (many of whom are now close friends) and was incredibly lucky to be part of Pantheon's journey from ~30M in NNA to 100M+ in NNA - working closely with our customers, prospects and for most of the time, building out Pantheon's Strategic partner ecosystem. I am incredibly proud of the work we did, and I am sort of amazed to find myself no longer at Pantheon, I thought I would be there through Pantheon's full journey to being *the* indispensable platform for teams doing important work with open source web frameworks.

You do have inflection at certain parts of journey, and much like my transition from Mediacurrent to Pantheon, I looked up for a moment and decided to see if there were other opportunities and or if I was on a path for another 5 years at Pantheon. I feel incredibly lucky I did look... as I ended getting an opportunity to join Datadog as an Enterprise Sales Engineer. More on that in another post.
